This is Hanoi

Little over 24 hours ago Kym and I touched down in Hanoi, Vietnam. The streets are chaos, shared by cars, buses, trucks, bikes, carts, pedestrians, and - mostly - motorbikes. There is no rhyme or reason to their movements, and crossing the road without being collected can be quite a task.

Merchants occupy the sides of the road, since the small tables and chairs of restaraunts have taken over the sidewalk. They often carry their goods in their arms and, with a friendly smile and a wave, see if they can rip you off. But generally they're content with a small shake of the head or a polite "no thanks".

And the food! Delicious and exotic smells await around every corner, tantalising promises of cheap, local dishes. Today's lunch of pork smothered in lemon grass and chilli was washed down very well by a glass of mint milkshake.

Wow, this donut lady looks a lot like Kym!

This is Hanoi. And I love it.
